MONSTER PIKE

Our main American-Plan camp, which is located in a protected, scenic bay on the southwest shore of Wollaston Lake can accommodate up to 26 guests in eight fully-modern cabins. The main lodge building features a comfortable guest dining room, a guest lounge and a screened front verandah. Our private guest cabins will accommodate from two to six guests in rustic comfort. New for 1998 is a recently finished 8-guest cabin. All cabins are fully-modern, having washrooms with showers, electric baseboard heaters, and electric lights.

Covering over 800 square miles in northern Saskatchewan, Wollaston Lake is noted for its exceptional northern pike and lake trout fishing. Anglers have caught and released monster pike up to 52 inches in length and weighing over 30 lbs! At a fishing derby held on Wollaston last summer a 54 lb lake trout was declared the winner! In addition to the trophy quality pike and lake trout Wollaston Lake also offers our guests the opportunity to angle for walleye, whitefish, and the beautiful Arctic Grayling. This year we are running brand new Honda 40 hp & 50 hp outboards on our 18ft & 20 ft custom boats.

Minor Bay Camps also operates outpost camps on Cairns Lake, Simpson Lake, Spence Lake, Phelps Lake and the McDonald River. The outposts range in size from the four-guest cabin on the McDonald River to two cabins that can accommodate up to 10 anglers at Phelps Lake. All our outposts are located on lakes that are reserved for the exclusive use of our guests.

The camp operates two air charters per week from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to a government airstrip situated within a short bus-ride of our main lodge. During our operating season, which runs from the first of June to the middle of September, charters depart Saskatoon each Sunday and Thursday morning at approximately 6:30 am. This schedule allows us to offer our guests the choice of three-day (Thurs - Sun), four-day (Sun - Thurs), or seven-day trips (Sun - Sun or Thurs - Thurs).

Guests must arrive in Saskatoon the evening before their departure to the lodge. We have arranged for our guests to be met at the Saskatoon airport upon their arrival. Special guest rates have been negotiated at two upscale Saskatoon hotels - the Radisson Hotel and the Saskatoon Inn. The next morning, after a 1 hour and 50 minute flight on West Winds Aviation's twin turboprop aircraft and a short bus trip, our guests arrive in the pristine wilderness setting of Minor Bay Camps.

Saskatoon is readily accessible from any point in North America as it is serviced by three international air carriers. Northwest Airlines operates two daily flights to Saskatoon via Minneapolis. Air Canada and Canadian/American Airlines also offer daily flights to Saskatoon from the United States and Canada.
