"Experience the Wilderness at Maynard Lake"

Walleye, Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, Muskie. They're what Canadian Wilderness fishing is all about. Maynard Lake provides some of the best action in Northwestern Ontario. The potential for a trophy is there every time you cast your line in the water!

Accessible only by float plane, Maynard Lake Lodge is located on a prime position of the renowned English River System, 50 air miles Northeast of Kenora, Ontario (map). The rustic comfortable lodge - the only on the lake - provides a remote fishing experience for up to thirty guests on truly unspoiled waters. Providing both lake and river fishing, Maynard Lake can be successfully fished whether casting, trolling, drifting, or still fishing. The choice is yours.

The Lodge

Maynard Lake Lodge sits high overlooking the beautiful scenery of Maynard Lake. Its rustic atmosphere houses the kitchen where our cook prepares savory meals that exceed expectations. The comfortable dining room seats thirty and in this family style atmosphere you'll be served both breakfast and dinner with a smile.

Our private cabins at Maynard Lake Lodge are exceptionally clean and hold 4-8 guests in comfort. All cabins have electricity, a beverage fridge, running water, a wood stove, and wall-to-wall carpet. Cabins are stocked with linens, towels, warm blankets, and ice buckets. We provide daily maid service. Some cabins are fully modern - equipped with a three piece bathroom - while others are serviced by central bathrooms and showers found in the main lodge.

The Lake

Maynard Lake is approximately 8,000 acres in size. We offer the best of both lake and river fishing as Maynard Lake is fed from the north by the fast flowing English River, which moves through the lake and flows out at Maynard Falls. The lake has depths from 1 to 130 feet with many sunken islands and underwater structures to create incredible mid-lake lunker feeding spots. Accurate depth maps are available.

The diversity of the Lake and the ten miles of current and back eddies in the river allow you to be successful with almost any fishing technique. With this enormous variety of habitat, great fishing can always be found regardless of weather condiitions. The Falls, The Finger, The River, North Bay, South Bay - more lake to explore each time you return to Maynard!

A Family Affair

July and August are most popular for family vacationing at Maynard Lake Lodge because the weather and water temperatures are most suitable. It's a wonderful place for children and their parents to experience nature in all it's splendor. Even young children can catch lots of fish to keep their interest high. Along with the fabulous fishing, the lake offers an abundance of wildlife to observe and many beautiful sand beaches for swimming and exploring.

To occupy the non-fishing hours at the lodge we have a canoe, paddle boat, a kayak, a golf driving range, cedar log sauna and all our game room activities. Our children, Josh, Courtney and Cody enjoy sharing their summer fun with new friends and helping them have a great summer holiday at Maynard Lake Lodge.

We enjoy having families at Maynard Lake Lodge and offer 1/2 price specials for children 16 and under, in the months of July and August. Your time at Maynard Lake will be a truly memorable family experience (even if the kids do catch the biggest fish).
