Have you ever had the chance to catch native Rainbow Trout while being the only person on the lake? Imagine having a lake or stream entirely to yourself! The only sound you'll hear is the cry of a loon as it echoes across the lake's surface. Your only neighbors are moose as they feed unconcernedly in the shallows as your fly lands nearby. Eagle Island Lodge is located at the edge of the Rocky Mountains in north central British Columbia. This pristine setting is untouched by man. There are no other commercial activities within the Park's boundaries so you're guarantied to have a "true wilderness experience." Our lodge and surrounding cabins, which are accessible only by boat, are all extremely comfortable and boast most of the amenities of home. Summer days are very long here in the north; our flexible schedule allows our guests ample time to fish, "rejuvenate," and form life-long friendships! |
| Fishing
Fish five different lakes in a Provincial Park. Stream fishing is also available. Guests catch native Rainbow Trout up to 8 pounds, Dolly Varden (Char) up to 20 pounds, and also Grayling in the neighboring streams and rivers. None of the five lakes we fish have been stocked, they're all natural and are very good producers. The Rainbow Trout in these lakes have a unique trait - they jump up to three feet out of the water while they're feeding. This is such a common occurrence that we'll stand behind this 100% - if, while you're staying with us on one of our 8 day lake fishing packages, you don't see a Rainbow jump 3 feet out of the water, we'll gladly refund 100% of your money.

Boats Our boats are powered by reliable Honda 4 stroke outboards.

Other ActivitiesGuests at our lodge are not only fishers - we offer scenic boat tours, guided canoe tours on the many interconnected lakes, day photographic trips to the heart of the Rocky Mountains, and wildlife viewing and photography. On clear nights it's quite common to see a "light show" as the northern lights dance across the sky in their brilliant colors. Guests can expect to see moose, bald eagles, beavers, otters, loons and perhaps even a bear wondering along the lakeshore. |
