The Young Angler's Guide to Catching More and Bigger Fish!

This excellent book was written especially for children. It's easy to read and every page and colorful graphics and pictures. If your children are like most young anglers, they don't care what kind of fish they catch as long as it's something. While it's fun to be outside casting away on the water, it's always more fun when fish are caught.

By reading this book, your children will learn about some great tips for catching more sunfish, bass, carp, catfish, and others. The book is also filled with little-known fish facts, like: did you know that some of the fish you catch are older than you?

The book answers the following five questions:

1. What can I catch? The beginning of this book shows your child where different fish species live.Species descriptions are presented along with fish profiles and their geographic range. Fish covered include sunfish, crappies, carp, largemouth, smallmouth, rock bass, catfish, bullheads, northern pike, muskies, perch, walleye, trout, and salmon.

2. What tackle do I need? This chapter details the best lures and live baits for the species your child is trying to catch. Also described are the best rods, reels, lines, and knots. This chapter also has excellent photos that illustrate how to cast for both accuracy and distance.

3. How do I make a fish bite? This chapter describes different fishing techniques that include: bobber rigs, bottom rigs, fishing jigs without bobbers, and spinners. Casting locations for ponds, lakes, rivers, and streams are also offered along with tips on hook setting and reeling the fish in.

4. Is it a keeper? This chapter teaches your child on what to do with the fish once it's caught. Instructions on holding and releasing different fish species are offered. Step by step instructions are also presented for cleaning a catch.

5. What does my fish weigh? Here your child will read about world records for each fish species presented. Age and weight charts are presented so one can determine these attributes based on fish length alone.
